Community of Evaluators – Nepal (CoE-Nepal) has been assigned to pilot a project entitled ‘Flagship 1- Strengthening National Evaluation System” aligned with the National Evaluation Action Plan 2016-2020, developed jointly by the National Planning Commission (NPC), UN agencies and Volunteer Organization for Professional Evaluators (VOPEs), with the support from International Organization for Cooperation in Evaluation (IOCE), Canada. The main aim of the project is to strengthen the national evaluation systems for the SDGs, by providing support in enhancing the institutional and individual capacity of Parliamentarians, GoN/NPC, CSO, and VOPEs; building the capacity of national evaluation partners and stakeholders using the National Evaluation guidelines and SDG VNR guidelines; and supporting the national evaluation partners in preparing Nepal VNR while ensuring alignment between the SDG and the NPC national objectives and targets.
CoE-Nepal in consultation with NPC, UN partners, and VOPEs considered the necessity to interact with different relevant stakeholders (including Government organizations, bilateral agencies, development partners, and non-government organizations to address the Monitoring and Evaluation capacity building need. In this regard, CoE-Nepal organized a workshop on Monitoring and Evaluation Training Module Preparation to develop a training module for intermediate-level professional evaluators. The workshop was held on 27 August 2019 in Kathmandu.
