Professor Narayan Shrestha boasts a remarkable career spanning over twenty- seven years, dedicating his expertise to various facets of development in Nepal and Asia Pacific. His focus areas include Monitoring & Evaluation, Indigenous Peoples, Quality Education; Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), Women Empowerment, Good Governance, Social Safeguard, Energy Management, action research, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation and mitigation. His work is not limited to a single organization; currently he has offered his skills to European Union, as well as serving as a National Social Inclusion and Indigenous
Peoples Advisor for Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. He is also a Programme Expert-Team Leader for Social Welfare Council (SWC), Government of Nepal, to evaluate the development projects in Nepal. He is also working as an Associate Professor under Tribhuvan University Nepal.

His extensive experience includes collaborating with several renowned international organizations and programs. These include USAID- Energy Program, United Nations Environment Programme, UNDP, UN-HABITAT, UNICEF, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Norwegian Refugee Council, International Foundation for Electoral Systems, USAID Trade and Competitiveness program and Urja Nepal Programs. He has also served for five years as Country Director in an INGO named Magic Bus India Foundation, country office Nepal.

He holds M. Phil. in Sociology and Anthropology, Master’s in project management and Gender Studies, Master’s in public policy, Bachelor’s in Sociology and Anthropology and PGDDM in Disaster Management. He also holds Ph.D. in Development Studies from Kathmandu University.
