Mr. Ujjwal Krishna Mali is a seasoned Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) professional with over 15 years of development experience in Nepal. His expertise spans program design, monitoring, evaluation, knowledge management, and capacity building across subnational governance, enterprise development, vocational training, labour migration, anti-trafficking, and youth and women’s empowerment programming. Mr. Mali has contributed to USAID, DFAT, World Bank, NORAD, SDC, ADB, EU, and MSI UK-funded programs, and has led and managed more than 30 independent evaluations and assessments.

He holds dual Master’s degrees in Sociology and Business Studies from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, and a Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from Strategia Netherlands. He currently works as an independent MERL consultant, serves as Co-Founder and Program Advisor at the Institute of Enterprise Development, and is General Secretary of the Community of Evaluators – Nepal.
