Geeta Bhattrai, PhD, currently a treasurer in COE Nepal, has an educational background in management, gender, and development studies. She completed her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mumbai and her Master’s and PhD degrees from the Asian Institute of Technology. She has more than fifteen years of experience in the development sector, integrating gender with a particular focus on climate change, agriculture, natural resource management, adaptation, and socioeconomic issues. She also has experience in monitoring, evaluation, and assessments.

With her academic knowledge and learning from ground-level experiences across different regions, she brings an understanding of the interlinkages between diverse sectoral issues, gender quality, and livelihoods. She has worked with Heifer International, SDCC-AIT (Thailand), USER (Thailand and the Mekong region), Chiang Mai University (Thailand), ICIMOD, KISAN II, LIBIRD, WLCN, FORWARD, CIMMYT, IRRI (Philippines), WWF, PLAN Nepal, USAID projects, ADB, UN agencies, WWF, GGI, ILO and other development projects in Nepal. These assignments have provided her with diverse perspectives on social, environmental, and economic dimensions, as well as their policy and institutional linkages at national and international levels. She also has publications published with her research works. She can work well in multicultural environment.
