Honourable Ananda Pokharel, member of parliament cum the Coordinator of the National Parliamentarian Forum for Development Evaluation Policy in Nepal (NPFDEPN) chaired the inauguration session. The national workshop was held in Kathmandu, Nepal from August 21 to 23, 2016. President for Good Governance and Monitoring Committee in the parliament Honourable Mohan Singh Rathour extended a warm welcome to all to the event and highlighted the importance of monitoring and evaluation at all levels including parliament and post-earthquake recovery. Following the National Anthem, the Right Honourable Speaker of Legislative Parliament Onsari Gharti and the Chief Guest of the session inaugurated the three-day workshop by lighting the traditional oil lamp (panas). Dr. Gana Pati Ojha, the Chairperson of Community of Evaluators-Nepal (CoE-Nepal) briefed about the objectives of the event and the importance of EVALSDGs and EvalAgenda. The objectives of the workshop were to –increase understanding on Global Evaluation Agenda 2016-2020 and evaluating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in equity and gender lens.
